Animal care unit 2; Biosecurity
This animal care unit has been developed by Munkagardsgymnasiet. The specific content of the unit was developed throughout the Amoove21 project in the European Teacher Working Group and in close consultation with local and regional companies.
Virtual assignment
This virtual assignment will focus on different types of routines for biosecurity at the participating schools. You will not only analyse and reflect, but also think about improvements for the routine you investigate.
Every group will make a short video about one routine at their school and post the video on eTwinning. The students will watch the videos from the other schools and give each other feedback, using the "two stars and one wish" system.

Learning Unit
In this pilot you will learn more about how to keep animals, both pets, zoo animals and livestock, in a biosecure way. You will learn how to create an environment supporting natural behaviors and animal well-being. By learning about European standards in regulations regarding animal environment, and comparing national regulations, you will see similarities and differences between the countries involved in the project.
At campus you will use your skills during stable duty, taking care of both zoo animals and livestock. Excursions to external companies will be related to animal environment/biosecurity; visiting zoos, farms and other animal businesses.
During the course the students will together create a “handbook for international visits”, with routines and regulations for how to visit other schools and farms in a biosecure way.
